The entire East Hampton Rise project has been meticulously designed to bring out the very best of the existing landscape and its natural elements. Working with Edmonton landscape architects ISL Engineering and Land Services , EHR has achieved the optimum balance of new development and use of green space. Landscape amenities are a generous 50% of total site coverage (site area minus building footprint, pavement and sidewalks).
Sustainability is central to all of Guild's projects and is fully deployed at East Hampton Rise. Trapping and reusing storm water, planting low maintenance grass, and using solar power applications for walking and skating path illumination all add to the goal of a small carbon footprint.
The importance of green space and an eco-friendly community is increasingly growing as urban sprawl consumes precious land in fast growing cities. East Hampton Rise occupies a mere 3.07 acres. Building up and down (19 stories of residences and 6 underground stories of parking) rather than far and wide is an efficient and responsible use of land and allows maximization of available surface space for greenery, walking paths, ponds, gardens and skating areas.
